The trade war with China could raise costs for U.S. energy consumers and threaten the viability of the current energy renaissance underway in the U.S., a leading oil & gas industry group argued this week while lobbying against an additional round of tariffs $300 billion worth of Chinese goods. The American Petroleum institute – which represents 600 energy companies – joined hundreds of other lobbyists and businessowners who are anxiously trying to persuade the Trump administration to avoid imposing additional tariffs on thousands of Chinese goods. Seven days of public hearings on the proposed Section 301 tariffs closed Tuesday.’
