Workers at DuPont’s Bayport chemical plant in Pasadena have officially voted in favor of joining an engineers’ union and will likely start contract talks soon, the International Union of Operating Engineers confirmed Friday. The vote comes as workers are nervous about the impact of the planned spin-off of DuPont from DowDupont on June 1 and amid allegations that the company tried to interfere with union elections.
