Houston-based Freeport LNG has hit two key permitting milestones in recent weeks bringing its proposed new 5 million metric ton liquefaction plant on the Gulf Coast closer to fruition. The Federal Regulatory Energy Commission last week gave Freeport LNG permission to build a fourth liquefaction plant at its facility on Quintana Island about 70 miles south of Houston on the Gulf Coast.
