The Woodlands-based Huntsman Corp. will sell its chemical intermediates business in $2 billion deal as it seeks to refocus its portfolio on chemicals with more stable margins.
The chemical maker siaid late Wednesday that it has signed a deal – which will impact three Texas plants – with the Thai chemical company Idorama Ventures to sell its chemical intermediates business for $2.076 billion. That includes a cash purchase of $2 billion plus $76 million in net underfunded pensions and other post-employment benefit liabilities.
