Energy Secretary Rick Perry, a longtime proponent of the North American Free Trade Agreement, defended President Donald Trump’s threat to tear up the deal if he can’t win concessions from Mexico and Canada. Speaking with reporters in Washington, the former Texas governor said the agreement needed to be “renegotiated” and U.S. trading partners needed to get used to the administration’s negotiating style.
