The nation’s commercial crude stockpiles rose by 3.8 million barrels last week – an increase of about 1 percent – as global oil prices continued to fall this week.
U.S. gasoline inventories dipped by 2.5 million barrels, but that was more than offset by distillate stocks jumping by 3 million barrels, according to weekly Energy Department data. Distillate fuel oil is used to make diesel fuel and heating oils.
